ACADEMIC POLICY BOARD

Eagle Academy Families — Your Voice Matters!

•  Did you know Eagle Academy is governed by an Academic Policy Board (APB) that helps guide our school’s mission, budget, policies, curriculum, and key decisions?
•  The APB is made up of 4 Parent Representatives , 2 Teacher Representatives , 1 Community Representative , The Principal (in a non-voting, advisory role)
• Alaska State Statute recognizes Academic Policy Committees (APCs) to govern and oversee charter schools. At Eagle Academy, our APC is called the Academic Policy Board (APB) - different name, same roles and responsibilities!

Want to get involved? Here’s how:

•  Attend a Meeting – All families are welcome! Each meeting includes time for public input. Submit Public Input by Email – Can’t attend? Send your comments to be read at the meeting.  Serve on the APB – Elections are held every spring. Parent and community seats open annually!
• The APB operates under Alaska’s Open Meetings Act, meaning APB business is only conducted at public meetings.

2025 - 2026 Meeting Dates

Please note: This is a tentative schedule. Please check back regularly for any changes. Unless otherwise noted, meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. at Eagle Academy Charter School at Fire Lake Elementary in the Meeting/PTO Room Room 162.. Agendas are posted at the front entrance of the school and a  can be accessed by clicking on the governing documents section under agendas. 

PUBLIC COMMENT: If you would like to speak during the public comment section of the agenda, please contact Kevin Waicekauskas (Chair) at Waicekauskas_Kevin@asdk12.org or Emily Morrison (Vice Chair) at Morrison_Emily@asdk12.org or another APB member by 3:00p.m. on the day of the meeting.
